How to screenshot the entire screen
To take a screenshot of your entire screen, press and hold these three keys together: Command (⌘), Shift, and 3.
How to screenshot a specific portion of your screen
To only screenshot a specific portion of your screen, press and hold these three keys together: Command (⌘), Shift, and 4. Your mouse cursor will change to a crosshair (+). Click and drag your mouse to select the area of the screen you want to screenshot.
Where are your screenshots saved to?
After taking a screenshot, you will be able to find the file on your Desktop. The file will be named “Screenshot” followed by the date and time you took the screenshot.
Don't have a Command (⌘) key on your external keyboard?
If you are using a separate keyboard designed for Windows, the Windows key (⊞) located in-between Ctrl and Alt will function the same as the command key (⌘) on MacOS. For example, pressing Command (⌘), Shift, and 3 at the same time would be Windows Key (⊞), Shift, and 3.
