BYOD WiFi Onboarding Guide

All MDSD staff and a limited number of MDHS students have access to join personal devices to the MDSD WiFi network.

NOTE: Currently, student access is limited to Mr. Borg's and Ms. Nevill's classes

The basic procedure is as follows:

1. From the device you would like to join, select the WiFi network: MDSD-BYOD-Onboarding. Once connected, a browser page should automatically open with your operating system and device type pre-selected. If for some reason the selection is incorrect, you may change it via the dropdown: ‘Select your device’. There are also two different configuration options that can be selected, but you should leave it set to: ‘Configure via dissovable Agent (configure and connect)’

2. The instructions to complete the setup vary by operating system and device. Short instructional videos can be found on the BYOD onboarding page of the SecureW2 website in the section that looks like:

Select the operating system icon underneath the video player to view the instructions appropriate for your device. When prompted to sign in, use your MDSD email address and password.

3. Once you have completed the onboarding instructions, your device should automatically switch over to the WiFi network: MDSD-Wifi. If for some reason this does not happen automatically, you can always select it manually.

NOTE: The outlined procedure is only necessary to setup the connection for the first time, afterwhich you can connect directly to the MDSD-WiFi without any further configuration.
